Bio:
I am currently a junior majoring in Fine Arts (Studio Arts) with an emphasis in traditional drawing and design, minoring in Video Game Design and Management, Communication Design, and specializing in Video Game Production. I will receive my Bachelor of Arts degree in December 2009.
My industry experience includes work as a 2D Assets Artist for Konami Digital Entertainment's online Flash games. One is the classic NES game "Double Dribble" for Konami Play and the other is an independent contract project that I am working on with a partner.
My past industry experience includes work as an environment and prop artist at Naked Sky Entertainment located in Downtown Los Angeles. There, I designed the environment in various levels of "Roboblitz" (multiplayer) for the Xbox Live Arcade. I have also created props and worked on terrains for THQ's "Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon" (multiplayer) for the Xbox360.
I also had the opportunity to work at Konami Digital Entertainment as an Operations Administrator. There, I worked with Operations in the Game Soft division as well as with Sales and Marketing. I also had the opportunity to work as a concept artist on the side for an unannounced game.
My art experience includes work with Maya, Adobe Photoshop, and Unreal Engine 3. I am knowledgeable in making 3D models in Maya and applying textures created in Adobe Photoshop. With UE3, I am able to import the model and create materials for the objects and add normal maps. I am also able to do 2D digital art in Photoshop and Corel Painter.
My independent projects include working with the GameMaker platform. I have designed and programmed two games, one of which won first place in the Games4Girls Competition 2007 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
I am fluent and literate in the Japanese language, with 11 years of studies outside of regular class time. I believe I can take advantage of this knowledge into the professional world of video games where Japan is significantly contributing to the advancing industry.
My goal is to work in a bilingual environment in English and Japanese, working as a 2D artist and eventually a producer/project lead.
